Description

The Moon with approximately 62% illumination.

When the images this is composed from were being captured the "seeing" was predicted to be Poor. Looking over wind maps at various levels in the atmosphere didn't look all that great either. I went outside and looked at Sirius and some other stars, they were twinkling like they do in average seeing, not like they do in poor seeing. Surface level winds were essentially non-existent.

So I hauled out the mount, telescope, and associated gear loaded the car drove to my "in city" location. Once I could see the Moon's surface in the camera's Live View I was perfectly happy with the seeing.

I connected the remote shutter controller to the camera, left the camera in Live View (so the mirror was locked up in order to minimize the vibrations already caused by the shutter), set it to take collect images with 10 seconds between to allow vibrations to settle out.
